Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger admits Leeds pushed them all the way for Saturday's 3-2 win.

Rudiger insists both penalties won by Chelsea were deserved.

He said, "It was tough because you have to respect the way Leeds play. It's very intense with lots of runs. All over the pitch it is one v one. Very tough."

On the two penalties he added: "I felt them both. For me they touched my legs first and then the ball. So for me it is two penalties. The referee's checked. That's why they have VAR."

On the significance of this win, Rudiger also stated: "City and Liverpool won so we cannot afford to slip-up any more and lose games. These last couple of weeks it's not like the teams have outplayed us, we have given the goals to them. We need to stop this."
