Manchester City sporting director,Txiki Begiristain says they won't underestimate Sporting CP after their Champions League draw.
The two teams will meet in the round of 16 later this season.
Begiristain said: "We know the coach and his good players, not least because they had Bruno Fernandes [who plays for rival Manchester United] before. Now, they have Pedro Gonçalves, who scores goals, and Pedro Porro, who we know very well. We know who they are and how well they have been in recent seasons, something that president Frederico Varandas has achieved."
The match will mark the chance of Pedro Porro to face his parent club.
Begiristain added: "Rúben Amorim plays with five defenders and Pedro Porro fits perfectly into the system. The club is located in a wonderful city. We know it, not least because we deal with their people, who are very friendly."
