Sporting CP football chief Hugo Viana has welcomed their Champions League draw with Manchester City.
The two teams will meet in the round of 16 later this season.
Viana said: "They will be complicated matches, as they would be against any of the other teams. There are no adjectives to describe this Manchester City.
"They are the leader of the Premier League, played a spectacular group stage and have a team that, if not the best, is among the two or three best teams playing football in Europe.
"They have an excellent coach and it will be an extremely competitive game. Manchester City are favourites, but we will compete and, in the end, the result will soon be seen.
"Guardiola is one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best, and I believe that Rúben Amorim will also reach this level. He is among the most promising coaches in Europe and it will be a good duel."
