Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe says January planning is underway.
January is a notoriously difficult month to do business in, but the club's owners recognise that the bottom of the table Magpies need reinforcements.
"I've said so many times that January is so difficult to predict," Howe told reporters.
"I could sit here and give you a whole host of numbers, but it's absolutely pointless because things change on a daily basis so all your plans and preparation can go out the window in a matter of minutes.
"Processes are happening above me to prepare for January. With the number of games we have, my immediate focus is the team, the players we have and trying to maximise their abilities.
"There's two different things here. Everyone's doing their jobs behind the scenes, but I'm focusing on the team at this current time."
