Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe insists his players are capable of making history this season.
Bottom of the table Newcastle have become the fourth side in Premier League history to fail to win any of their opening 14 games of the season.
The other three teams - Swindon Town (1994), QPR (2013) and Sheffield United (2021) - were all relegated so Newcastle are already up against it little more than a third of the way through the campaign.
"I'm realistic, but I'm also very positive," he told reporters.
"I know it's going to be extremely difficult. If no team has done it, there's a reason why they haven't done it. That's because it's incredibly tough.
“But why not be the first? That's always been my mindset. Why not change history? That's what we're going to have to do. We're going to have to do it the hard way, but we're more than capable."
