Jose Peseiro has been named new coach of Nigeria.

Peseiro takes the job after leaving his position as Venezuela coach.

The Portuguese will keep a watching brief for the Africa Cup of Nations, where Augustine Eguavoen will be in charge of the Super Eagles.

"It was unanimously agreed that the CAN is a good way for Mr. Peseiro to initiate a working relationship with Mr. Eguavoen, who will return to his role as technical director (that is, Mr. Peseiro's direct boss) after the CAN," stated the NFF.

The 61 year-old has coached Porto, Sporting CP and also was No2 to Carlos Queiroz at Real Madrid.
