Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri says they paid for their errors in defeat to Sassuolo.

Domenico Berardi and Giacomo Raspadori struck the goals for Sassuolo in their 2-1 win.

Sarri later said: “The development of the game caused us trouble. We had to replace Pedro and Zaccagni, who had been doing well, but we also have ourselves to blame.

“We've often faced teams playing with a 4-2-3-1 system, we knew what we had to do and that it was a difficult game, Sassuolo are a strong team. Technically, they are worth more than their position in the table.

“We made some mistakes and we were a bit unlucky with Pedro and Zaccagni's injuries.

“We lacked a little bit of quality, but I can't say we didn't run enough or that we lacked commitment."
