Norwich City will have just two fit centre-backs for Tuesday's clash with Aston Villa.
Canaries skipper Grant Hanley will be out for the foreseeable future with a shoulder injury, while Andrew Omobamidele is also out.
That leaves manager Dean Smith with Ozan Kabak and Ben Gibson as the only available centre-backs.
"There's no fracture which is really pleasing, but he is going to be in a sling for the next 10 days, so he will be out for the foreseeable future," said Smith.
"We're not sure how long yet. He is having a scan to find out if there is any ligament damage but the fact that he is in a sling isn't the best news for us."
He added: "Gibbo [Ben Gibson] will train today so we will see how he gets through it, so I am hopeful for him [returning].
"Andrew [Omobamidele] will be out still. He has got a stress response in his lower back so that will take time, probably a couple of weeks. Hopefully, he will be back just after the Christmas period."
