Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola expects Kyle Walker to soon make a return after missing the win at Newcastle.
The defender was ruled out of City's midweek triumph over Leeds United due to fitness reasons, with his last appearance coming away to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
Walker's return will provide a welcome boost to Guardiola's squad, with Premier League matches against Leicester, Brentford and Arsenal all to come within the next two weeks.
Asked about the 31-year-old's omission from Sunday's squad in his post-match press conference, the City boss reiterated that the tie had come slightly too soon in his recovery.
He reflected: “He didn't feel good today. He didn't feel good.
“The issue is now one or two days off then we will prepare for the toughest part (of the season).
