Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was unhappy with the officiating as his side lost on penalties to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup quarter finals.

The Foxes were in the box seat in the game, taking a 3-1 lead after a stunning James Maddison long range strike.

However, Liverpool pulled the game back and secured a 3-3 draw at full time, taking the game to penalties.

Rodgers was particularly happy with one challenge on Ricardo Pereira in the game.

He said post-game: "It was a poor challenge, but I thought the referee was poor all night.

"I never normally comment.

"We had one moment where Madders [James Maddison] is away and Jordan (Henderson) was clever and took the foul but there's no yellow and in the second half he was given one."
