Newcastle co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has denied a report that stated he was rejected by former Chelsea and Monaco sporting director Michael Emenalo.
The Magpies were reportedly seeking to hire Emanelo to a similar role at the Tyneside club.
The Telegraph stated that Newcastle could not match Emanelo's ambitions, but Ghodoussi went onto Twitter to deny the claims.
He wrote: "Contrary to a newspaper report, Michael Emenalo was never offered the job of Sporting Director or Director of Football at Newcastle United. #NUFC #FactsMatter."
Newcastle have still not appointed a director of football to assist new boss Eddie Howe, which may be concerning to fans as the January transfer window is right around the corner.
