Newcastle management are facing contract decisions on several U23 players.

ChronicleLive says the U23s are now on their winter break but when the squad returns Newcastle will start to move forward with their decisions on contracts for 2022.

Former Schalke 04 defender Brad Cross is one whose deal runs out in 2022 while Dylan Stephenson is also in the last six months of his contract.

Although it is expected that Stephenson will earn a new deal with the Geordie currently top scorer for the reserves with 12 goals.

Another decision that is approaching is for Scottish teenager Reagan Thomson who also sees his deal expire in the summer.

Newcastle paid £54,000 for his services from Queens Park in Scotland with the 18-year-old making seven appearances for the Under-23s.
