Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso was delighted for his young teammates after their Carabao Cup quarterfinal win against Brentford.

The Blues started with three debutants on the night, as Harvey Vale and Jude Soonsup-Bell began in attack and Xavi Simons at fullback.

After the 2-0 win, Alonso said: "Yeah it was crazy. They had one training session with us, they were just having a few days break. But they came in and played an amazing game.

"They were a massive help to us to win the game today.

"Of course, I was trying to help the young lads with us. It was their first game and it was a pleasure to help them through the game.

"I think they did great and I'm happy for them."
