Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold defended the manner of their victory over Newcastle.
Alexander-Arnold insists Liverpool did not 'cheat' and simply played to the whistle with their controversial equaliser against Newcastle United.
Jonjo Shelvey fired the Magpies into a surprise seventh-minute lead at Anfield on Thursday night, but the visitors were soon left aggrieved by Mike Dean's decision to allow Diogo Jota's strike to stand.
Isaac Hayden was left nursing a head injury in the six-yard box following a collision with Fabian Schar, and the midfielder was lying on the turf as the Portuguese international equalised.
But Alexander-Arnold later said: "When the game is going on like that in their box you're not really looking round at who's on the ground, who's up, you can't, you're looking for your teammates trying to score.
"Your eyes aren't focused on the ground but if it's head injuries it's up to the referee to stop it he didn't, and we played on until the whistle and scored and that's all you can do.
"We haven't cheated or done anything unsportsman-like, we've played to the whistle and scored from it."
