Lyon have told Newcastle United to forget about a new offer for Lucas Paqueta.
Le 10 Sport says Newcastle offered €40m for the Brazil international last week - which was turned down by OL. The French giants, however, knew Newcastle were prepared to go higher to prise Paqueta away.
But after speaking with the player, it was settled that Paqueta had no interest in moving to Tyneside next month.
Paqueta had already rejected a €10m-a-year offer from Newcastle - over two and a half times his current OL salary.
As such, OL have informed Newcastle that they're wasting their time trying to negotiate a fee for the attacker with him determined to stay where he is.
