Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio says the players were delighted with their derby win against Atletico Madrid.
Real won 2-0, with Karim Benzema and Asensio on the scoresheet.
Asensio, who scored the second goal, was delighted: "It was a very important game, getting the three points and keeping this good run going, and in front of our fans. It's a derby and it's a very special experience. It's also really important for the fans. We knew it was going to be difficult, but we put in a strong performance.
"We're very solid at the moment, we're full of confidence and we're all working very well as a team, you can see that out on the pitch. That's important if we want to win the LaLiga title. We went ahead today and then took advantage of the spaces on the counter attack, like for my goal. The good thing is that we have a lot of options as a team and we know how to make the most of them."
Vinicius Junior created both goals and Asensio continued: "He's playing very well, both scoring goals and creating assists. We're really happy for how he's developing. I'm very happy for him because he's a great kid.
"I'm feeling very good. I always try to cause problems for the opposition, to help the team and now the goals are coming and I'm proving to be decisive. Hopefully I'll carry on like this.
"There are still a lot of games to play, we're in a good position but we have to continue approaching the games as we are doing. We must get too far ahead of ourselves but we have to keep winning, that's the most important thing."
