Gerrard believes he taken charge of a sleeping giant.
"It is a huge club and I am really privileged and honored to be in this seat and this position," said Gerrard.
"We must continue to develop and continue to try to become stronger on a daily basis. The players do everything they can to make it happen.
"We want to push on, we want to continue our good form and finish as high up in the table as we can. We try to work in some situations where we can strengthen the squad, become stronger and put ourselves in the best possible position."
