Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo admits he was saddened by the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The pair were former United teammates and Ronaldo was initially convinced to return to Old Trafford by the Norwegian.
He told Sky Sports: "It's always sad and it's tough.
"Ole played with me before, and then he was my coach. A wonderful person. When he left, everyone was sad, but it's part of football. When things do not go the way the club wants, something must change.
"I was disappointed, but we must understand the club's point of view. It was difficult, but life goes on."
