THE Chinese community in Sabah is urged to join hands with the State Government in developing Sabah.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor said this includes helping in the success of the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development agenda.
“May the Year of the Tiger this year, which symbolises its power, greatness and courage, carry our state forward and the people live in harmony.
“I also hope for unity among the people of various races and religions in this country. May they not be disturbed by elements leading to division,” he said at the presentation of lion dance heads to Ranau Chinese Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2022 at the Hakka Association Hall, Ranau, Jan 27.
The Chief Minister handed over six lion dance heads as an assistance from the State Government to Chinese community associations in the district, namely Ranau Chinese Chamber of Commerce; Ranau Hakka Association; Chon Chu Kung Ranau Temple; Kinabalu Dragon and Lion Dance Association Ranau; Ranau Hokkien Association and Ranau Chinese Peranakan Association.
Hajiji said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) State Government has allocated RM1 million for under the lion dance heads assistance throughout the state, which clearly demonstrates its commitment that emphasises on the principles of justice and equality in all aspects as well as always helping the people regardless of race and religion.
The GRS Government has also provided RM47 million to the non-Muslim schools and religious bodies this year, the largest ever approved by the State Government thus far.
