Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has taken aim at Burnley manager Sean Dyche over his opposition regarding introducing five substitutes.
While Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp have been critical of the Premier League schedule, Burnley 's Sean Dyche suggests players have never had it so good.
But Villa boss Gerrard, who regularly played 60 games a season for Liverpool and England, said it was vital to consider the views of the players involved.
“There needs to be a respect for what they are doing and how often they are getting asked to do it," he said.
“We need to listen to them.
“With all due respect, very few of Sean's players have to play that many games at such high intensity.
“If he was managing at the top of the league, maybe his opinion would change.
“And that goes the other way, too, if Jurgen and Thomas were at the bottom maybe they would think differently."
