The prices of Massimo bread by The Italian Baker Sdn. Bhd. reported rose earlier this year by about 20%. Although people are unhappy about the price increase, Massimo fans will continue to support the bread purveyor, our survey found.
Our poll asking “After Gardenia, prices of Massimo bread will also rise. Will you still support their products?” with 8,200 respondents found that 37.61% of Newswav users will continue buying from Massimo because it is their all-time favourite bread purveyor.
Meanwhile, 31.1% of respondents will no longer purchase bread from Massimo because it is “too expensive” while 31.29% say it does not matter because they are not bread enthusiasts.
Besides Massimo, decades-old loaf maker Gardenia has also increased their prices, due to the rising costs of raw materials and freight charges, the brand later explained.
