River Plate striker Julian Alvarez is being backed over a move to Manchester United.
Alvarez continues to be linked with an exit from River Plate and now one of the coaches from his youth career has had his say.
Rafal Varas has endorsed a future move to United but suggests he will stay in Argentina for the rest of the calendar year.
“For me he wants to stay a little longer in River to go to the World Cup," Varas told Radio Republica.
“Julian is going to adapt and explode at any club there. I'd like him to go to Real Madrid or Manchester United."
Alvarez's agent Fernando Hidalgo is due in England this week for transfer talks with United.
