Everton signing Vitaliy Mykolenko admits his move from Dynamo Kyiv was emotional.

Mykolenko completed his switch on the weekend.

He recalled to Dynamo's website: "Igor Mikhailovich (Surkis, president of Dynamo) gave me an example of his daughter.

"He said that I was like a son to him and it was up to me to decide whether to stay at Dynamo, win trophies and get a decent salary. 'But if you are ready, then say it and we will continue to negotiate,' he said.

"I replied that I do not know if I am ready, but I really want to. And desire is probably the most important thing in football and in life in general. At the moment when Igor Mikhailovich told me 'you are like a son to me,' I started thinking. Tears came later, when there was a conversation between the presidents of the two clubs and everything was agreed."

He added: "When everything was agreed, I got into the car and sobbed. It takes me 40 minutes to go home, and probably 30 minutes I cried."
