TAWAU: In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, the State Government has allocated RM1 million to the community and cultural associations to preserve their culture and traditions. This includes the donation of 28 lion heads to the Tiong Hua community in Tawau, including eight schools here, Monday.

State Assistant Finance Minister cum Apas Assemblyman Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said the State Government has allocated about RM40 million for non-Muslim bodies, vernacular and private schools in the State this year and it was the highest allocation since Sabah’s independence in 1963.
