SANDAKAN: A Filipino was escorted out of Malaysian waters by maritime police (pic) as he attempted to enter the country’s waters by boat near Nunuyan Island, off here, on Monday.
Sandakan Region 4 Marine Police Force Commanding Officer DSP Rusdin Banin said a team noticed a boat moving suspiciously and entering Malaysian waters and started to pursue the boat at 5pm.
“An inspection of the boat saw a man on board who claimed to be from Pulau Taganak, Philippines. The individual and his boat were then escorted out of Malaysian waters,” he said.
He said the marine police will not compromise, especially in the fight against the spread of Covid-19.
He urged the maritime community to channel information to the Sabah Region 4 Marine Police Force via WhatsApp at 0132831197 or contact their Sandakan Operations Centre at 089-221453.
