Newcastle United hope to complete the signing of Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes today.
L'Equipe says terms between the two clubs have been agreed, with Guimaraes to take a medical today. Should he complete the tests without problems, the deal will be rubberstamped.
Newcastle had an offer of €42.5m plus €8m accepted by Lyon earlier this week.
A director from Newcastle has flown to Brazil and is in Belo Horizonte today for the Guimaraes medical. The midfielder is in the city with the Brazil squad.
There's hope of an announcement from the two clubs by Saturday at the latest.
