Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government is not ready to reopen the State's borders for international tourism.
Sabah's Covid-19 official spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the government needs to carefully look into various aspects before doing so.
He said he is fully aware of calls to reopen borders especially to tourists from China.
“I know the eagerness of some people asking for the State borders to be opened because they (tourism players) are facing a drought of tourists especially from China," he said.
“But before we whine or complain about this, I also want them to think that…even…people [in China] are not allowed to leave and are even locked up in certain provinces, so if we open our borders, is there a guarantee [they] will come to our country? This is what we need to consider carefully."
