The index patient in the cluster named Jalan Pertukangan was a 16-year-old boarded student at SMK Sandakan who developed symptoms on Jan 16, said the update shared by Sabah's spokesman for the crisis, Datuk Masidi Manjun.
The student tested positive for the virus the next day and close contact screening found 72 more cases. All the cases were either asymptomatic or had light symptoms.
