Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius' hopes of joining SpVgg Greuther Fürth appear over.

Karius was seeking to join Greuther Fürth as a free agent this month.

But with his contract having six months to run, Liverpool have refused to pay out the remainder of his deal, says Kicker.

Instead, Karius appears set to sit out the season and allow his deal to run down before leaving in June.

The German goalkeeper is training with the Liverpool first team, though isn't registered for the Premier League.
