LABUAN: The Sabah Football Club (Sabah FC) have shortlisted three Labuan players for the State Under-21 (U21) centralised training camp at the Likas Sports Complex.

The trio, goalkeeper Mohd Ikhwan Monajah, 19, Mohd Syahmi Idris, 20, and J. Klemen Jenis, 21, left for Kota Kinabalu on Monday for the selection trial alongside more than 50 players from across Sabah in preparation for the President Cup.

Labuan Football Association (Lafa) president Sophian Said hoped the three would give their best in training and get selected for the Sabah U21 team.

“We are very pleased with this development and hope it will motivate other players, especially the youths on this island,” he said on Tuesday.

Sophian praised Lafa officials for their hard work in grooming these three players.

Sabah FC chief coach Jelius Ating held a development training camp here on Sunday to shortlist players for the centralised training camp.
