SHAH ALAM, Jan 11 — The Kuala Selangor – Sabak Bernam road, between the junction of Jalan Permatang and the junction of Jalan Bukit Belimbing, will be fully closed to traffic starting at 11pm tonight, said the Kuala Selangor Works Department.

Its district engineer Nur Hafidzan Idris said the closure will last until 6.30am on Thursday (January 13) as repair work on the portion’s pedestrian bridge will be carried out.

“The closure of this route will cause traffic disturbances to highway users during the aforementioned period. Users are requested to heed the instruction signs put up,” he said in a statement.

Nur Hafidzan said heavy vehicles can use the alternative route which travels through Jalan Sugai Terap, Jalan Raja Musa, and Jalan Rawang 1.

“We hope for and thank the public for their cooperation in this matter,” he said.

Yesterday the Kuala Selangor Works Department reminded the public to be careful when passing under the bridge, following an accident where a heavy vehicle collided into the bridge.
