Sport says Barcelona want to bring in Tagliafico to give Jordi Alba some competition at left-back for the second half of the season but it's going to be tough to manage it with 48 hours left to go in the transfer window.
The defender is with the Argentine national team, but before leaving, he agreed with Ajax a deal that could see him leave the club. Both agreed he could go, if Ajax received 7 or 8 million euros for him.
His deal expires in 2023 and Ajax don't want to let him go for no fee like Andre Onana.
Ajax would loan him to Barca with an obligatory buy option, but the Catalans would like it to be optional. Marc Overmars's willingness to negotiate with his former side makes the operation a possibility still.
