The Colombia international passed his Liverpool medical on Saturday after Porto had accepted an offer from the Reds of an initial €45m plus a further €15m in bonuses.
Diaz is now due to sign a deal with Liverpool to 2027.
Everything is on track for the transfer to be completed before Monday night's transfer deadline, with Diaz now flying to Buenos Aries for the World Cup qualifier against Argentina this week.
