Newcastle United have put in a serious offer to secure Everton left back Lucas Digne.

The Frenchman is not happy at the Goodison Park club under the guidance of manager Rafa Benitez.

Having successfully signed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, Newcastle are turning their attention to Digne as they look to revamp Eddie Howe's backline this month.

According to Sky Sports News, the Magpies have put in a bid of £22.5 million and Sean Longstaff to secure Digne.

It is unclear whether Everton feel that valuation matches their own, while Digne would have to agree to the move.
