Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is delighted with the attitude of Dwight Gayle.
Gayle has been fit and available throughout the Magpies' 2022 so far making the lack of even a substitute appearance somewhat surprising.
When asked about Gayle's position, Howe said: "Dwight is another player who has shown a great attitude behind the scenes, with his work.
"He has a big role to play in the team. He's a very experienced player.
"I think he's got a very good vocal presence in the dressing room. He's really helped the players.
"He's supported them when he's been in the team and when he's not."
