Thiago Alcantara was left in tears after being forced to miss Liverpool's Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea.
The Spaniard was named in the starting line-up at Wembley.
However an injury in the warm-up saw him replaced by Naby Keita.
The 30-year-old was consoled by teammate Alisson as he shed tears on the bench.
Liverpool went on to win the match 11-10 on penalties.
