Aarhus chief Stig Inge Bjørnebye insists they plan to extend the stay of Jack Wilshere.

The former Arsenal midfielder made his AGF debut in defeat to Vejle last night. Wilshere has a deal to the summer.

Bjørnebye told TV3: "We must spend the first half of the year finding out about each other, but the intention is of course that we must have a longer collaboration. We want to organise the best for him so that it will be rewarding for him.

"He also needs to find out about the Danish league and find out about us, so we have had sensible conversations with a clear intention that if both parties thrive on the cooperation, then it must continue."

He also said: "He thinks it was good timing for him, in the situation he was in, and we are of course are just happy that we get a quality player. We get quality, but we also get some other references into everyday life."
