Those who were inoculated with Sinovac as their primary vaccine may now get the same brand for their booster jabs, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said earlier this week.

The decision was made due to the reluctance of Sinovac vaccine recipients to take booster doses offered by different brands.

“… taking any booster is better than no booster,” Khairy was quoted as saying.

In a Newswav poll asking, “If you are a Sinovac recipient, will you be taking the same brand for your booster dose now that you have the option?” 61.84% of 5,100 respondents voted “yes, for sure” as of today, 11 February 2022.

A little more than a third of respondents (31.6%) indicated that they would still prefer booster jabs from Pfizer-BioNTech or AstraZeneca. The remaining 6.56% of voters are still thinking about it.

As of this week, 3.5 million people who received Sinovac as their primary vaccine have yet to get their booster shots.

What about you? Are you a Sinovac recipient for your primary COVID-19 vaccine and would you prefer a booster dose of the same brand? If you haven’t said your piece yet, tell us what you think here at this poll, and let your voice be heard.
