Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is calm after a lack of January additions.

Saints did not make any senior signings to their squad throughout the entire January window, despite the takeover of Sport Republic at the beginning of the month.

Asked if he was expecting to make a move, the Austrian responded: “No, I think we have at the moment a very good balanced squad, I must say.

“With nobody leaving in the winter, nobody wanting to leave, which is also a strange situation, everyone feels that they are needed here and will get a chance to play."

He continued: “This is for us always important that we have this situation, a bigger squad this season, it is an advantage in this time – although in the end it wasn't because the games have been cancelled and we were able to play although we had also a few cases.

“But this was the plan what we were focussing on in the summer, and because we have a bigger squad we don't need to do anything in the winter."
