Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says Will Armitage is one for the future.
Armitage, a 16-year-old centre-back from Cheltenham Town, signed scholarship terms with the club this week.
He is hotly-tipped after impressive senior appearances for the Robins in the EFL Trophy and will go into the under-18s with a view of landing a spot in Dave Horseman's B team.
On Armitage, Hasenhuttl responded: “He's not a player for the first-team at the moment but an important player for the youth teams."
