Kota Kinabalu: A police report that armed Filipinos recently intruded Lahad Datu was fake after all, the court heard today.

A foreigner named as only Ben admitted in a Lahad Datu court to making the false report to "make government servants exercise their legal powers against someone else", according to a media release by the Sabah Police Contingent.

The man was ordered by the attending magistrate to be jailed for six months and subsequently referred to the Immigration Department.
