Liverpool striker Diogo Jota was delighted with his double for victory over Leicester City last night.

He took his goal tally for the season to 17 by scoring twice to secure the Reds' 2-0 victory over the Foxes at Anfield on Thursday night.

Jota now has 12 Premier League goals this term and 30 in just 60 appearances for the club overall.

He told BT Sport post-match: “I think I always like to get in those decisive spaces.

“I was lucky enough for the ball to be there at the right time and I put it in. It's important always to score first, it gives us a bit more confidence and then it's never easy but we killed the game right at the end.

“Obviously it's my best [season for goals] so far. I want to keep helping the team, that's the most important thing."
