Liverpool have reduced Manchester City's lead on top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Leicester City at Anfield.
The Reds were dominant from start to finish in front of their home supporters.
It was Diogo Jota who broke the deadlock after 34 minutes.
Virgil van Dijk met a corner beautifully to fire a header at Kasper Schmeichel.
The Dane pulled off a great save to deny van Dijk but was unable to follow up with Jota's rebound shot.
Schmeichel pulled off another set of crucial saves to twice deny Roberto Firmino and Luis Diaz on his full debut.
Jurgen Klopp's side were able to seal the victory with Jota scoring his second goal with three minutes remaining.
City are still leading by nine points however Liverpool possess a game in hand.
"Leicester are a really good team," Klopp told reporters after the game. The set-up was a little like they played against us in the first league game.
"I don't think they had too many finishes but they had moments that we had to defend. We had the bigger chances and we deserved the win.
"It was for sure not the best we ever played but it was really good enough to win."
