Everton are narrowing in on ex-Tottenham transfer chief Steven Hitchen to become their director of football.
The club are eager to replace Marcel Brands, who left earlier this season after issues with now fired coach Rafa Benitez.
According to the Daily Mail, Hitchen is now the leading candidate to take the post at the Goodison Park club.
Hitchen was the director of technical performance at Spurs until last week.
Another candidate to take the job and work with manager Frank Lampard is former Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell.
