Real Madrid are concerned Karim Benzema won't make their Champions League round 16 clash with PSG.

The 34-year-old has not played since leaving the field against Elche with a hamstring injury in January, and has already missed their Copa del Rey defeat by Athletic Bilbao.

L'Equipe says the player's recovery has not been as swift as the club would have hoped, with it now a real possiblity that Benzema will miss the first leg of their Round of 16 clash next Tuesday.

The French publication has revealed the player has only been able to return to light training this week, and is likely not to be risked against Villarreal in LaLiga this weekend.

A Real source told the paper that 'it is unknown' whether Benzema will be fit to return midweek.
