KOTA KINABALU: New Covid-19 cases in Sabah shot up to 4,892, Thursday, said State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
However, he said, the stiff increase was partly due to delayed reporting of backlog cases.
“Some 1,413 or 28.88 per cent of today’s (Thursday) cases are backlogs of between six and 12 plus days, 748 cases (four to five-day backlogs) and 1,803 (two to three-day backlogs),” he said in the State’s daily update.
The top five districts with the highest number of additional cases are Kota Kinabalu with 1,947, Tuaran (425), Penampang (415), Papar (290) and Tawau (208).
Masidi also said 4,869 or 99.53 per cent of the new cases are in Category 1 and 2, while five in Category 3, 13 in Category 4 and five in Category 5.
