KUALA LUMPUR – In conjunction with Wilayah Day celebrations, ex-national diver Leong Mun Yee and Paralympic gold medalist Abdul Latif Romly were given the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW) award, which carries the “Datuk” title.

The duo was rewarded by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah along with 263 others at the National Palace today. 

This joyous occasion was celebrated by many, including the National Sports Council (NSC), which took to Facebook to congratulate the athletes.

Netizens were equally as happy and showered the duo with congratulatory words.

“You deserve it!” many commented.

Leong Mun Yee officially retired after participating in the Tokyo Olympics, ending her 27-year stint with the national team.
