Kota Kinabalu: Viral news that a Sabah teen has died because of a Covid-19 vaccine booster shot is false, said the State's Health Director Datuk Dr Rose Nani Mudin.

The teen died on Feb 12 of worsening congenital heart disease and their family has received this clarification well, said Rose in a statement today.

The teen's mother and Tuaran Hospital had lodged police reports over the viral WhatsApp message, said Rose.

The mother and hospital also clarified that a booster shot had not been given to the teen, who completed their vaccination on August 21, 2021.

Rose urged the public not to share fake news.
