Former Liverpool attacker Xherdan Shaqiri is in talks to leave Olympique Lyon.
The Switzerland international left the Reds for OL last summer, but is now in talks with Chicago Fire.
OL have announced: "The management of Olympique Lyonnais and Peter Bosz inform that they have granted Xherdan Shaqiri's request to be able to start discussions with an MLS club as part of a future transfer."
Shaqiri is not in today's squad for the trip to AS Monaco.
He is on track to sign for Chicago Fire next week.
