PAPAR: District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit said a robbery suspect was detained with help of the public and pistol seized.
This follows a video clip of a food deliverer assaulting a man, believed to an armed robber, which went viral, Wednesday.
It was believed that the incident occurred at 8.45am at the roundabout near Benoni Commercial Centre, here.
In the eight-second video, a motorcyclist was attempting to fend off a robber, while at the same time restraining him.
It was also said that the suspect was armed with a pistol.
“Police have received a report regarding this incident and investigations are progressing,” Batholomew said.
He commended the efforts of the public and urged the public to continue playing their role in channelling information to the police.
